CMF Phone 1 Review

So hello Friends, welcome to the new fresh article. In this article, I have shared my CMF Phone 1 Review with you. so let’s begin I have thoroughly tested the CMF Phone 1, my friends. It was delivered to me yesterday. so if you are interested in buying a smartphone under 15000 with a neat clean experience. so you can read the article till the end.

Feel And Design

First, let’s talk about the feel of CMF Phone 1. The vegan leather on the blue version feels good and doesn’t slip from your hand, but it feels broad. The 6.67-inch display and around 200 grams of weight can be felt, especially during gaming. The side panels and edges are a bit sharp and noticeable. The company provides a scratch guard, which is good. However, two things missing are the 3.5mm jack and charging adapter.

CMF Phone 1 Back panel

Now, the most highlighted feature of this CMF Phone 1 is its removable back panel. I’ll show you a demo. The back panel can be rotated open, and you’ll see four screws that need to be opened. You can do this carefully. Once the screws are out, the back opens easily, and you can see the internal parts. There’s a warning not to open a particular part, but if your back panel gets scratched or damaged, you can replace it with a matte finish one. Although these accessories are pricey, it’s a good feature for those who drop their phones often.

Camera Battery and more

Regarding the phone’s physical aspects, we have a blue colour with vegan leather, which looks nice but doesn’t feel comfortable. On the back, there’s a 50MP and 2MP camera setup, with a flash and a 5000mAh battery. The left side has volume keys, the bottom has a hybrid SIM tray, a main microphone, a Type-C port, and a single speaker. The right side has the power key, and the top has secondary noise cancellation. The front has a 16MP selfie shooter with symmetrical bezels that are a bit wide.

Display and Performance

The display is 6.67 inches AMOLED with a 120Hz refresh rate. We played 4K videos without any frame drops, and the processor is capable. The company says it’s using the Dimensity 7300 processor for the first time, which is slightly below the Dimensity 7200 in performance. However, it scored over 6.5 lakh in the Antutu benchmark, and the Geekbench scores were also good. The read and write speeds are decent for the price. You can play games smoothly, and I’m using the 6GB model with 128GB storage, which provides a good experience with casual gaming.

Battery and Camera Test

We also conducted a battery drain test. At 2 AM, the battery was at 66%, and by 10 AM with Wi-Fi on, it was at 64%. This indicates a good idle drain. The battery backup is satisfactory. The storage of 128GB is sufficient, and the camera is a highlight. The 50MP and 2MP rear camera and 16MP front camera take decent pictures. You get 1x and 2x options, but there’s no wide lens, which is a drawback for a phone priced over ₹15,000.

The front camera doesn’t provide a natural feel, but overall, the experience is good. Color science needs improvement, but it’s manageable. We tested the software update, which promised fixes, but didn’t notice major changes. Videography-wise, the rear camera supports 4K 30fps and 1080 60fps, while the front supports up to 1080 60fps.

Here’s a sample from the CMF Phone 1 rear camera recorded at 1080 30fps, showing stabilization and zoom capabilities. The front camera video sample is a bit cropped, but it captures decent audio and stabilization.

Security Features

The CMF Phone 1 has good security features with an in-display fingerprint scanner and face unlock, even with a mask. The Android One software promises two years of updates and three years of security updates. There’s no bloatware, which helps with battery performance. Features like merging wallpapers, app clones, and AI functionalities are included.

Connectivity and Additional Features

We tested the connectivity with 4G+ and 5G, and the results were good. Wi-Fi calling is available, and call quality was excellent with a dedicated proximity sensor. However, the single speaker’s loudness is decent but not great. The phone lacks stereo speakers, which is expected at this price range.

Extras include SAR value within limits, and Widevine L1 certification, but no AAC support. You get useful sensors and screen recording out of the box. The CMF Phone 1 comes in two variants: 6GB+128GB for ₹15,999 and 8GB+128GB for ₹17,999. I tested the base model and found it satisfactory. There are a few cons like no adapter in the box, no 3.5mm jack, no stereo speakers, and slightly large bezels. However, the clean software experience, decent performance, and good battery life make up for it.

CMF Phone 1 Review Conclusion

Overall, if you want a clean experience with decent performance and casual gaming capabilities, this CMF Phone 1 is a good choice. Make sure to buy the right adapter and case separately. The display quality and software experience are the highlights. I’ve shared everything about the CMF Phone 1. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
